Hero status is our way of saying thank you to the people who make local food scenes possible.
Why We Call You a Hero

When you choose to order from an independent restaurant, you’re doing more than buying a meal:

What Heroes Get

When you place an order, restaurants will be able to see that you’re a Hero. Many may choose to:

How Hero Status Works
We’ve designed Hero status to be simple, fair, and based entirely on real support.
Launch Period: Everyone Starts as a Hero
When Hero status goes live:
- Every existing Joyous user automatically becomes a Hero for 3 months
- New users will also receive Hero status for their first 3 months after joining
This gives everyone a chance to experience the benefits—and get in the habit of supporting local.
Ongoing: How to Keep Hero Status
After your initial 3-month Hero period:
- Make 2 purchases of $20 or more
- At any restaurants on the Joyous platform
- Within a month
Do that, and you keep Hero status for:
- The current month
- And the following month
No subscriptions.
No hidden fees.
Just real support for local restaurants.
